Introduction
Homelessness prevention is the term used to describe policy measures which help people avoid
entering homelessness. Prevention measures range from broad structural measures, such as
ensuring that there is adequate supply of housing to minimise the risk of homelessness, to
emergency intervention measures, such as assisting a household at risk of eviction with maintaining
their tenancy.
