The Simon Communities of Ireland made a submission on the draft General Guiding Principles for the General Scheme of the Registration of Short-Term Tourist Letting Bill 2022 to the Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media.
Simon Communities of Ireland welcomes the General Guiding Principles and the intention that these new guidelines will be aimed at influencing the return of non-principal private residences to the long-term rental market. The submission focuses on how the transition of residences from the short-term rental market to the long-term market should aim to provide secure and affordable housing options for those who are most in need.
